Frequently Asked Questions

What is 7DayPic?
7DayPic lets you share your photos on Facebook, Twitter or wherever you want. All photos are automatically erased 7 days after being posted.

Why would I want my photos deleted after a week?
7DayPic is ideal for photos that you want to share with your friends now, but that you don't necessarily want to be around on the internet forever. Those crazy/party/drinking photos are super fun to share with your friends today, but you don't want future employers, business partners, new acquaintances, or family members to find them 5, 10, or 20 years from now and use them to form an opinion on you.

7DayPic helps you manage your online reputation by letting you share your photos on Facebook, Twitter, etc, and making sure those photos are gone after a week.

Why should I care about my online reputation?
When you share photos online, you are creating a track record that will be available for many decades. These photos become part of your online identity. Anyone that wants to find out anything about you will have easy access to whatever trail you've left online over the years.

According to a recent survey 75% of recruiters research applicants online. 70% have rejected a candidate for information they found online.

And it's not only a professional/career problem. Any "digital dirt" you have online will also affect how other people perceive you socially for many years to come.

Are my photos really gone for good after 7 days?
7DayPic will completely and permanently delete your photos 7 days after you upload them to our site. People trying to access them from other websites or applications through a link or URL will get a message saying that the photo is no longer available.

Of course, once you upload a photo to the internet you can never be 100% sure that it is completely gone. People can copy it, save it and even post a copy of the photo in other websites. However, this is only an issue if you have a stalker, an obsessive enemy, or the CIA tracking your moves and actively saving each of your photos to use them in the future.

In general, you shouldn't worry about the photos that you share on 7DayPic resurfacing anytime in the future. Our mission is to make it very easy for you to share your photos and not have to worry about them anymore.

Why 7 days?
7DayPic is meant for those pictures that you share in the spirit of the moment. They are probably not photographic wonders but they are fun and you want to share them with your friends immediately.
We believe that 7 days is enough time for all your friends to get the message you wanted to share with your photo. After 7 days, that message is old and not so interesting. It starts becoming part of that online baggage that we don't want you carrying around.

Please note that 7DayPic is not the right service for storing family photos or otherwise valuable/important/serious photos that you want to preserve for may years.
